刘起展,博士、博士后、二级教授,博士生导师。现任南京医科大学公共卫生学院卫生毒理学系主任、现代毒理学教育部重点实验室副主任、南京医科大学中毒研究所副所长、南京医科大学特聘教授和教学名师。美国伯明翰阿拉巴马大学(UAB)高级访问学者。

长期从事公共卫生与预防医学的教学和科研工作,主要开展环境毒理学、分子与遗传毒理学和地方病学等领域研究工作,近年主要探讨环境污染物致癌作用分子机制及干预措施、环境/职业有害因素所致机体和细胞损伤信号通路和表观遗传分子机制及干预。先后主持国家自然科学基金重点项目2项、面上项目6项、教育部博士点基金、江苏省自然科学基金和江苏省“六大人才”高峰项目等部省级研究课题10余项;以通讯作者或第一作者发表论文100余篇,其中SCI收录论文81篇,总IF达到358.833,平均IF为4.430;其中IF﹥8.0的5篇、7.0<IF<8.0的2篇、5.0<IF<7.0的20篇、3.0<IF<5.0的41篇;被引用总次数达2212次,H指数为34;发表于JCR分区1区杂志14篇,2区杂志53篇;4篇原创性论文他引次数进入Pharmacology & Toxicology及Clinical Medicine学科(ESI)前1%。获省级科技进步奖5项;以第一完成人荣获教育部高等学校科学研究优秀成果奖自然科学奖二等奖1项、江苏省科学技术奖二等奖1项、以主要参与人荣获省级科技成果奖5项,国家级教学成果二等奖1项和江苏省教学成果特等奖1项。
参编人民卫生出版社的全国统编教材《毒理学基础》(第五、六和七版)、《毒理学实验方法与技术》(第二、三和四版);主编和副主编科学出版社的《毒理学基础-案例版》(第二版)和《毒理学综合实验教程》(第一版)及《毒理学基础笔记与复习考试指南》(第一版);参编《中华医学百科全书-毒理学》(第一版)和《现代毒理学》(第一版)以及《分子毒理学》(第一和二版)等教材和专著15部;主持国家和省级教改课题3项;指导的本科生荣获江苏省优秀毕业论文(团体)奖4次;江苏省大学生/研究生创新项目4项;培养卫生毒理学专业、劳动卫生与环境卫生学专业博士和硕士研究生、公共卫生硕士(MPH)研究生共60余人,2006年荣获南京医科大学“三育人”先进个人、2012年荣获南京医科大学“扬子江奖教金”优秀奖、2013年荣获南京医科大学教学名师称号、2015年负责的学系被评为“江苏省工人先锋号”、2016年被评为南京医科大学“十二五”期间科技工作先进个人、江苏省优秀教育工作者和江苏省第十二届科技工作者等奖项和荣誉。
