About Nanjing Medical University
Nanjing Medical University (NMU) is one of the “Double First-class” universities in China. It is one of the first medical universities jointly founded by the Ministry of Education（MOE）, the National Health commission and the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province. It is also one of the first-class universities in Jiangsu High-level University Construction Peak Plan. Founded in 1934, the university now has 19 schools, comprising abundant clinical and public health teaching resources such as affiliated hospitals, regional medical centers, teaching hospitals and affiliated Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
About School of Public Health
As one of the institutions initially providing professional training programs in public health and preventive medicine in China, the NMU Public Health education started in 1934. The School of Public Health (SPH) was established in 1995. SPH has been authorized to offer doctoral Degrees of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, the professional master’s degrees for Public Health (MPH) and postdoctoral research stations. Its Preventive Medicine has been selected National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, the construction site of the National First-class Undergraduate Major and the Innovative Training Program for the High-level Public Health Talents. The School has funded multiple high-level innovative research labs across a variety of fields, including State Key Laboratory of Reproductive Medicine, the China International Cooperation Center for Environment and Human Health, the MOE Key Laboratory of Modern Toxicology, the Jiangsu Collaborative Innovation Center for Personalized Cancer Medicine, and the Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Cancer Biomarkers. In particular, its outstanding contributions to the fundamental chronic diseases and reproductive health have been acknowledged and honored the National Natural Science Award (Second-prize) and the National Science and Technology Progress Award (Second-prize).The discipline of Public Health and Preventive Medicine was graded A+ in the Fourth-round National First-level Discipline Comprehensive Assessment by MOE. Additionally, the Discipline has been granted the first-place winner in the Best Chinese Subjects Ranking assessed by Shanghai Ranking for three consecutive years. It has also been selected into the second-round Double First-Class construction universities & disciplines list in 2022.
Positions and requirements
1. Top talent in the discipline: candidates should be academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, overseas academicians, etc., whose scientific research represents the international and domestic first-class level, or other talents with equivalent academic status and level.
2. Leading talent in the discipline: professors or senior researchers from well-known universities and research institutions at home and abroad, have made important achievements in scientific research recognized by peers at home and abroad. In principal, candidates should be under the age of 50 in natural sciences or under the age of 55 in humanities and social sciences.
3. Disciplinary (academic) leader: assistant professors or above, excellent postdoctors from Overseas well-known universities or scientific research institutions, OR professors from “Double First-class” universities in China. In principal, candidates should be under the age of 40 in natural sciences or under the age of 45 in humanities and social sciences.
4. Key academic member: Excellent talents or excellent PhD graduates and postdoctors from well-known universities and research institutes at home and abroad. Applicants should be less than 35 years old in natural sciences and no more than 40 years old in humanities and social sciences.
