On the afternoon of October 4th, the mid-term progress meeting of the Chinese Academy of Engineering major strategic research and consulting project Strategic Research on China's Modern Public Health System and Capacity Building led by Nanjing Medical University, was held successfully.
The meeting attendees, joining either online or offline, include Hongbing Shen, the project lead; Jianguo Xu, Dongxin Lin, Tangchun Wu and Wannian Liang, the research principal investigators; Yao Liu, Chen Wang, Lanjuan Li, Dongfeng Gu and Wei Chen, the project consultants; Ning Ding and Xilu Zhao, directors of Medicine and Hygiene, Chinese Academy of Engineering; and 93 experts from 13 universities including Nanjing Medical University, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, as well as 11 institutions including China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Cancer Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Fuwai Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences.
Hongbing Shen hosted the meeting and Ning Ding introduced the policies and regulations of the project. Hongbing Shen reported the overall progress of the project, including the research background, research content, suggestions from academicians and project report, followed by the presentation of research and report progress given by each of the research principal investigators. At present, the project and subjects are progressing well. The investigation involves more than 180 institutions from 17 provinces and cities, with more than 6000 people participating in the survey. At this meeting, the experts mainly discussed the project report and suggestions from academicians, and put forward suggestions and opinions from multiple perspectives.
Finally, Hongbing Shen summarized the meeting and deployed the next step of the project.
