Jiangsu Key Lab of Cancer Biomarkers, Prevention and Treatment (Nanjing Medical University) was authorized by the Jiangsu government in March 2011. Based on the preliminary work of the Cancer Center of Nanjing Medical University, the laboratory focuses on tumor biomarkers and precise prevention, precise diagnosis and treatment, and clinical translation. The penetration of multi-disciplinary theories such as epidemiology, molecular biology, genetics, pathology, immunology, internal medicine of cancer, surgery and pharmacology and integration of technologies have formed characteristics and advantages in the fields of cancer genetic markers, molecular typing, molecular mechanisms, and translational applications of biomarkers, leading to the promotion of clinical transformation, optimized reorganization of research resources, and the form of new discipline growth points. The laboratory aims to develop oncology disciplines, build a high-level research platform, improve the overall scientific research level, and cultivate high-level talents in Jiangsu province. Ultimately, the laboratory will be one of the important platforms and centers integrating scientific research, personnel training, social services and academic exchanges in the field of oncology of China.
