National International Science and Technology Cooperation Base is recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology. It has made remarkable achievements in undertaking the tasks of national international science and technology cooperation. It is the carrier of domestic science and technology parks, scientific research institutes, colleges and universities, innovative enterprises and science and technology intermediary organizations with further development potential and guidance and demonstration roles. China International Cooperation Center for Environment and Human Health (CICC) is a national-international science and technology cooperation base which belongs to the category of the national international joint research center.

The CICC, led by Nanjing Medical University, relies on high-level research institutions and platforms including the State Key Laboratory of Reproductive Medicine, Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Cancer Biomarkers, Prevention and Treatment, Collaborative Innovation Center for Cancer Personalized Medicine. It is jointly established with Harvard University, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), National Institute of environmental health (NIEHS), Dartmouth College, Duke University Cancer Institute and other international famous universities or world-class research institutions. Through complementing and combining with the member's advantages, all institutions have developed the international scientific and technological cooperation mode of project oriented, talents training and base development, with the aim to focus on the basic research of the environment and major human diseases, solve the key problems in the scientific frontier, do every effort to build a first-class talent team, and achieve major breakthroughs in the research field.
